Countermeasures for Long-Duration Space Missions

During long-duration space missions such as a trip to Mars, the interpersonal environment of the crewmembers will be of critical importance in order to fulfill mission goals. We plan to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a Psychosocial Education Training countermeasure aimed at ameliorating the psychosocial problems that were found in our earlier work. This research project is in process and will involve a series of International Space Station (ISS) missions. Funding for this investigation is provided by the National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI).
